Hey there people!! How are you doing guys? Well I hope you’re all doing great and are happy and healthy to the peak.
So what do I mean by “Is it always they?”
Well, there are a number of things or should I say “issues” we talk about in our daily life. But what we often neglect, is what contribution we make to these issues and ultimately to the society. Today I would like to throw some light on a different perspective with which we can see the world and make it a better place for everyone. Also, we would be getting aware of the common mistakes we all commit in our daily lives and how we can bring a change in the world by JUST bringing a change in our usual habits.
Okay so we’ll be talking about four issues and I would share with my dear readers *the different way* of looking at them.
• Corruption!
It’s rather a big issue to start with, however the others aren’t related to politics. When we think about corruption what comes to our mind is- corrupt officers, corrupt government, corrupt system! Right? But where are the “corrupt citizens” in here? Aren’t they to be blamed? If there are people who take money then there must be someone giving the money. The riches and the well-off’s often forget that equality is the virtue. Everyone shall be equal in the eyes of the law and no one shall be given a priority over the other. But usually to get our work done easily, quickly or just more effectively, we- the common people indulge in corruption. And then all the blame for a corrupt nation is lied on the shoulders of the government. I do not say that the government is to be defended, not at all. But in my opinion, any action is possible only with the equal efforts of two parties involved. Okay! But here is another important thing. For what I have experienced till now is that in some situations the poor or the middle-class man is often asked for some extra fees by government officers if they want to get their work done. This is called the forcing of power on the helpless. In this situation, the common man is forced to pay the extra and the helpless is left with no other choice but to give away the money. And in real life, in the reality, a common man does not like to raise his voices because the poor knows what the consequences may be and who likes to waste time in court cases which are as expensive as their lifetime savings. But what I talk about in here is the rich who for his comfort, indulge in corruption. Just to avoid the traffic of queues or to save time , making such wrong offers to those corrupt officers is an act of shame. We must remember that the moral responsibility of all of us is to follow the rules laid for everyone in the country, with no starvation for priority.
• Patriarchy!
Now what is patriarchy?
My friend google says- a system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is reckoned through the male line.
Also,
a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it.
But how can we expect men to not dominate us, when we ourselves are in self doubt? I find myself with pride in my eyes and respect in my heart, for the women of today. We are stronger than before, have started raising our voices and are well aware of our rights today.Empowerment is in the air. But still in some parts of India, sadly the case isn’t the same.Even now, women think they are less or if not that, they think they deserve less. Why? I ask. We do not deserve less, nor do we deserve more. We deserve it equal. Okay Now getting up and changing the world is a time consuming, effort consuming and a big task; and strong trees doesn’t grow in one day. But changing the lives of those around us and of ourselves, can truly be a small effort towards the big change. To all the ladies there, start having a voice. Start believing that your opinion does matters, you are a valuable individual and you have much more potential in yourself than what you think you have. The patriarchy system can definitely be broken, just if we start with ourselves and from our homes.
• Victims!
Now imagine you are in the market or a grocery store and you see a woman who seems to be an acid attack victim. What do we do? Don’t we try avoiding them? Ignoring them? Or huhh surely, we keep our palms on the eyes of the small child with us! Don’t we? Even we ourselves try to not look at their faces or if one is curious, one starts staring at them as if she’s an alien. I know that this issue of acid attacks is a great example of the heights of inhumanity in our world. But, how can we- the common people help that girl, what can we do for her?
Don’t treat her differently.
I understand after that inhuman incident, her life might not be normal. But the society makes it even tougher for her to live like a normal being. Neither me-person writing this blog, nor you-people reading it, can understand the pain of that girl and her family. But what matters is how we can contribute.
Because small children aren’t habitual of seeing different things, I understand the concerns of those mothers; but please don’t do this in front of the lady herself. In none of our actions, she shall feel that she is different. Yes why only the victims, even people with some sorts of structure disparities or those who are differently abled; should be treated with respect and kindness in public places. Let’s be kind and thoughtful in our actions. Try passing a smile to them, if possible try talking about something good to them. Believe me, these little but kind gestures are a great source of confidence and motivation for these people.
• Surgeries!
I see! Today physical plastic surgeries are very much in light. No no I am not here to pass a judgement of right and wrong; I don’t do that and neither do I like doing it. But yes! There’s a point we miss and that’s what I am going to talk about. I have seen people judging other people who have had plastic surgeries; celebrities, popular faces and some common people too. Now I say why these people opt for plastic surgeries? Is it they or us? It’s the society which forces them to alter or completely change their appearance. Yes the exceptions are there; those who for their own self confidence undergo a surgery with the decision made by their own selves, and there is nothing so wrong about it. But mostly, for what I have seen is, people undergo surgeries because we- the people ask for it. I don’t accuse each one of us for this, because not everyone is like that! But some people in our society do exist who are more interested in seeing perfect faces than perfect hearts. These are the people to be blamed! Why do we always make fun of, taunt, troll, criticise those who have had surgeries, but never those because of whom they did so. We are so inappropriate to judge others. The story on the other side can never be known to us. I have no personal judgements to make about “surgeries and people having surgeries” being wrong or right. I just know what morally is right for me to do as a human. First of all my moral responsibility is to not harass anybody on their physical appearance so as to not force them to get their faces altered. And secondly, even if anyone gets a surgery done, morally I am no one to judge or comment. Let’s be kind to people! Let’s not judge.
In a nutshell my dear friends,
“A strong tree does not grows in a day, but we can surely water it everyday to see a strong tree one day. Similarly, change cannot be brought in a single day, we need to upgrade our thoughts everyday so as to live in a better world one day. Gandhi Ji said it rightly- that be the change you want to see in the world. This is how we will bring the change. By correcting our common mistakes we make as a common man and ultimately by building a better world together. Small steps towards a big change.”
NOTE:- I know today we chose some topics which can be controversial. But honestly, this blog has no intentions to make judgements or to hurt anyone’s feelings. The content is written wholly out of the feelings of respect and wholly for the mankind. Then too, the blogger apologises if she has in anyways said something wrong unintentionally.
So that was it. Hope I was able to be of some help and hope you liked the content.
Have a lovely day! See you soon!
