INTO THE SOUL

Today we shall be going deep into our soul. Rarely do we take time out for ourselves to sit in the lap of the nature and think and just think. We often underestimate this process of self awareness, when actually it’s a proven fact that people who tend to talk more to themselves and who keep analysing their lives and actions, are the people who enjoy certain privileges over the normal beings who don’t.

This topic is all about self awareness and gaining consciousness about our actions.

Thinking for a few minutes about all the good things we did, deeds we committed, giving a confession to it, recent lessons we learnt, recent tragedies we faced, recent happy moments we shared. Thinking about all this, a human fills himself with peace and contentment and also gains self awareness about oneself.

What is gaining self awareness?

Self-awareness is having conscious knowledge of our thoughts and emotions. Those who are self-aware tend to act consciously rather than passively, meaning they make better decisions, have higher levels of psychological health, and have a more positive outlook on life.

-(As on web)

Being self aware of our limitations, we can try overcoming it. Let’s assume we fought with our mom on a silly topic and now you feel pitty and guilt for saying rubbish to her. This does happens with all of us. But again, one thing differentiates us all. Some people who are really bad at unbiased self analysis would be like “why should I say a sorry, she must have understood I was furious at that time and that is why said those things.” (My take on this- if you THINK that the other person must have understood it then you’re wrong. You can’t just think like that. And also even if you know that the other person must have understood, there is nothing wrong in saying a sorry anyways, especially when it’s your own loving mom.)

Well, but some people who often do meditation and know how to figure out if I was wrong or right; do not take much time to decide when where and how to say a sorry. The first category made me think of this- the worst you can do to yourself is not show a reliable and true mirror to yourself.

So never hide anything from yourself. If you won’t accept and recognise your flaws, you won’t either be able to overcome them. And if you won’t be able to overcome it, there is no sense of doing meditation and analysing oneself. Self analysis should always be done to self realise, self value, self check, self improve and work on ourselves and to be a better person.

“With the help of self awareness and knowledge, everything can be achieved!”
